With gyms starting to reopen across the country, we are working to reboot the Terraboost program and get you what you need, whether it be the actual units, missing parts, setup assistance, replacement sanitizer,* or anything else. In order to do this, Terraboost will send a new survey out to all participating gyms next week to gather the necessary information. We had started this process in March, and many gyms replied then. Needless to say, however, things soon came to a halt because of Covid-19, and we need to push restart to get the most current data. EVEN IF YOU REPLIED TO THE SURVEY IN MARCH, PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR RESPONSES TO NEXT WEEK’S SURVEY AGAIN. *Please note that the Terraboost program always provides for free, “no-alcohol” based sanitizer as needed. Gyms wanting alcohol based sanitizer will need to purchase it at a discounted rate. The survey will provide for this option as well as offer information from the CDC on the difference between the two. There is a new operations team in...

Message to Our My Gym Community, Usually, I am speaking to our community only about My Gym, with messages on how to be successful operating a My Gym, coaching our teachers on having a bigger impact with our impressionable young students, pointing out how the one hour a week you spend with your My Gym kids can be so meaningful and important in their development, etc. Since mid-March, my messages to our owners, directors, and teachers have been words of intentional direction in the face of an unprecedented pandemic that has threatened our very existence. I have spent most of the last three months in action with MGE and the My Gym franchise community determining how to push through this crisis, survive the most difficult period in our company’s history, and then thrive in the new normal. I have been forever inspired by our community’s character, resilience, and brilliance. Over the past 3 decades and especially during this pandemic, what I have learned to be so true is that...

Per the Reemergence Plan, the class/camp and birthday liability waivers have been updated to include COVID-19 language. All locations were automatically updated in late May and all returning customers should sign the new waiver. Please note that the class/camp liability waiver appears on the VIMA as well as a standalone liability waiver. Read below to determine which version a customer should re-sign and how to clear a signature if needed. VIMA for Enrolled CustomersAll enrolled customers have a VIMA aka Membership Agreement. The VIMA contains the liability waiver along with the terms of enrollment. This is the document that customers enrolled in classes should re-sign. This can be completed on the Classes section of the client interface. If the customer’s link says View Membership Agreement instead of E-Sign, you must clear the existing signature in MGM. While logged in as Admin, go to the Classes tab in the Family Account.Click the PRINT icon to save the signed version as a PDF before clearing the signature.Click the red X to clear the signature. The customer will now have the option to re-sign in the client interface with...

We have created a simple and flexible solution for signing children in and out of camps and other drop-off programs without having to touch paper, pens, or tablets. All you need are a couple forms and QR codes, both of which are free and can be implemented right away. Please review the QR Code Signing directives on the Help Desk to get set up today. Q: What is a QR code?A: QR codes are “quick response” codes that, when scanned using a smart phone, bring the user directly to a web page or file. Q: Do I or the parent need special software?A: The gym does not need special software. Just print out or display the code on a tablet (see directives for details) at the front counter. Parents will need a QR reader app, but the latest versions of iOS and Android should have one built into the camera app. Q: Does this take the place of registration, payment, or taking attendance?A: No. All of those things must continue to...

As you have likely noticed, the recent trend has businesses that typically operate inside moving their services outside where it’s easier to distance, there are fewer surfaces, etc. My Gym classes, parties, and camps are ideal programs to run in an outdoor setting. These directives are a supplement to the Reemergence Plan. Please review that plan before implementing outdoor events in your community. The release will require a server reboot that may cause MGM and the website to go offline for 5-10 increments between 8:00 PM-9:00 PM ET. As always, we aim to have the least amount of downtime possible. Please follow Mae Perez’s posts in the Facebook MGE Community for any changes or updates. ❗️ACTION: Look out for the Action icon. An action may be required by the gym after the release. Regarding Email Marketing Reports: Per our update on May 18th, we are aware that email marketing reports are not displaying the correct number of delivered emails. Chargebacks continue to be a topic of concern and general cause for frustration. In 2018, Global Payments reduced the Chargeback fee from $35 to $5; nonetheless, we want to minimize the amount we incur. (Note: The final decision on chargebacks is made by the card brand – Visa, Master Card, Discover, Amex.) It is advised that gyms follow the steps below to view chargeback disputes as they occur. This should be done on a regular basis, weekly at a minimum. Doing so will allow you the time needed to dispute them. Log in to MGM and go to Resources > Vendor/Partners. Then click on Global Payments to log in or sign up for the Global Merchant Portal. If you have trouble logging in, contact Global Support at 1-800-688-5378.From the Reporting Tab, click on the 4-Dot icon on the upper right section of the screen and then click Disputes. From here, you will be able to view and address any Chargebacks on your...

We recently released a comprehensive guide to reopening – the Reemergence Plan – that describes in detail how and when you should reopen your My Gym. As more states prepare to loosen stay-at-home orders, you will want to get with our Support Team to decide whether you will reopen in Level 2 or Level 3 of the Reemergence Plan. One of the questions that has come up is, “Will there be curriculum for this?” The answer is YES! Just in time for the week of 5/18, you will notice that we have added both Level 2 and Level 3 programming to the Curriculum Center. Here is a quick guide on how to best utilize this new curricula. Level 2: In Level 2, you will be hosting semiprivate playdates at the gym (this is known as My Gym Live Plus Playdates). Each week, MGE will offer two sets of MGLPP curricula: one for younger and one for older, each 30 minutes. Depending on the age range of the children who...

Last month, several MGE team members met with a group of franchisees to discuss potential options as it pertains to camp – whether and how it may fit into the My Gym LIVE model. In the days after the meeting, while we struggled to find the right LIVE camp options, mayors and governors around the country announced timelines for reopening their cities and states. We are now at a crossroads wherein certain areas of the country are getting ready to reopen their doors, and other states will likely be following. It is our belief that, if you are permitted to begin reopening, operating at Level 2 or 3 from the Reemergence Plan will be much more beneficial than running a virtual camp, both financially and for future growth of all gyms. The fact is that nothing can really beat the “in-gym” experience. We also do not believe a virtual camp would generate the kind of revenue to make it a worthy investment of time and payroll; there are many...

As you have heard, a few US states and some countries are preparing to reopen their economies by allowing some businesses to open. Even though MGE’s stance is that My Gyms should open when they are allowed to, we must be prepared for the possibility that: Your state/country may need to take a step back and shut down businesses again.A percentage of your clientele may not be ready to leave their homes or attend a program like My Gym. We are in unprecedented times. If you are considering reopening, please read the entire Reemergence Plan, note your questions and feelings, and contact MGE Support (support@mygym.com) to speak about your specific situation. In an effort to keep enhancing the My Gym LIVE experience, we are adding a new class to the Curriculum Center! Beginning with Week 6 of curriculum, Gymnastics class programs (for both Level 1 and Level 2) will be available. The program is intended for children ages 5 and up, and does not replace Super Kids. You may elect to run both programs on your schedule if you wish. As with the in-gym program, you don’t need any special background in gymnastics to run this program, though having some base-level familiarity doesn’t hurt. This LIVE class will work best when taught by teachers who previously led the in-gym program. All ingredients in the LIVE version of the Gymnastics program require no spotting and no special equipment. Just inform your participants they will need a wide space with no furniture or hard edges near the student. If you previously ran Gymnastics in your gym and offered more than one level (i.e., levels one and two), you may run both levels...
