Immediate Program Safety Notification

This week’s big swing is listed as “Traffic Jam or Starting Line.” If you have chosen to set it up as Starting Line, please be aware that the children MUST swing the same direction as you would have the kids swing on Traffic Jam. That is, the ladder should swing the same direction (parallel) to the other swings. If you swing the ladder perpendicular to the swings, this constitutes a major safety hazard, as the children may tip over as the swing sways. If you need any further support about this, or any other aspect of curriculum, please send an email...

World Reef Day and Sunscreen Awareness

June 1 is World Reef Day, and June 8 is World Ocean Day. In observance of these days, our partners at Caribbean Sol are on a mission to raise awareness of sunscreen chemical toxicity to marine life. During the entire month of June, Caribbean Sol, with the support of My Gym, the United States Professional Tennis Association, and Reef Relief, will be asking people to help take care of our oceans. The campaign will be driven through social media by asking people to take photos of their sunscreen labels. Caribbean Sol will send a special discount code to each consumer who does this. (Details below) WHAT DO WE WANT YOU TO DO Share the post from the corporate Facebook page on June 1. We’ll post a reminder in the MGE Facebook Community group. OPTIONAL ACTIVITY If you would like to do more for this movement, you can serve as a sunscreen drop-off point during June. Ask your customers to drop off their sunscreens containing the toxic chemicals oxybenzone, octinoxate,...

Change in Digital Party Invitations

As previously communicated, the digital invitation service of Evite is being removed as one of our birthday features. This change is out of our control because Evite is retiring the free version of the system and the paid version is cost-prohibitive. Evite will keep the current platform active until May 31st. The Party Confirmation Email template has been updated to remove the Evite verbiage and link. If you have customized your template (indicated by a checkmark in the Custom column), it did not change. Be sure to manually remove the Evite text if needed. Remember to also review your party literature in print and on your website to make the necessary updates.  We feel that Facebook Events are a viable alternative. Gyms wanting to suggest this option to their party hosts can insert the following text in to their Party Confirmation Email template: Invite your guests with a Facebook EventMy Gym cover photos are available to customize your Facebook Event. MGM Update

History Our hope is that, over the past several years, MGM has grown as a technological platform to where franchisees recognize it as a great tool because of everything it now does for them.  MGM started out as a client database and has grown into a payment processor, online registration system, and enterprise software that helps all owners run and manage their businesses more effectively.  We don’t dismiss that the road has had bumps, and we are aware there have been headaches, but know that we work tirelessly to make it the best system possible with the resources in place and really hope that you now believe the system is invaluable. We made the decision to fully develop MGM many years ago without knowing the endgame or direction the technology would take.  We believed at that time that our franchisees would be better served by not using “off-the-shelf” software (like Mind Body Online) that has many limitations and would never serve the many needs that the My Gym business...

Discontinuation of Evite

The digital invitation service of Evite is being removed as one of our birthday features. This change is out of our control because Evite is retiring the free version of the system. Please review your party literature in print and on your website to make the necessary updates. The Party Confirmation Email will be updated shortly to remove the Evite verbiage and link. Please note that, if you have customized your template (indicated by a checkmark in the Custom column), it will not change. Be sure to manually remove the Evite text from your party confirmation email. We searched for alternatives to Evite, but, unfortunately, all were either cost prohibitive or didn’t meet our needs. There are packaged invitations available from ShopMyGym, and new graphics you can provide to party hosts creating an event in Facebook have been added to the Marketing Library. Please contact the Marketing Division with any questions. MGE Support: 818-907-6966Email: marketing@mygym.comLive Chat: From...

These agreements must be signed and returned no later than Monday, May 13, 2019. If you have any questions, please contact Ken Dang at ken.dang@globalpay.com or 1-800-610-1822 Ext. 74592. Moving forward, all Canadian locations will be grouped under the same “umbrella,” similar to how gyms are grouped in the US. This will protect individual locations from changes, additional fees, and/or increases. Beginning in May, the recently added System Maintenance Fee, the Risk Assessment Fee, and the PCI Admin Fee will be removed. To be included under the new “umbrella,” you need to have a new contract signed with...

My Gym Vaccination Policy

Because of the recent measles outbreaks, we have created a My Gym Vaccination Sign (search keyword: vaccination on the Print System) that you may post or distribute if you feel it is needed.  This sign would be used similarly to the “Keep Children Healthy Sign.”  It may be posted during cold and flu season, or in the event you have a measles outbreak in your area. In addition to this sign, you may also reference the “Vaccination and My Gym” document on the Operations Manual for more advice and information.  This is an internal My Gym document and not for distribution.  Please email support@mygym.com with...

ACTION REQUIRED: Important Sibling and Multi-Class Tuition Discount

Per our update on February 8th below, MGM has a new way of calculating tuition discounts for families with multiple tuition payments. If you have previously set a manual override to compensate for what is now fixed, you will need to review and potentially remove the override to calculate the correct discount. All gyms should review the Report > Classes > Discounted Enrollments report to determine if any family accounts need attention. Please see the original update below for more details, and contact the Help Desk if you have questions or need assistance. +++ On March 8th, MGM will be changing the way sibling and multi-class tuition discounts are handled. Currently, the original enrollment record is discounted when a new enrollment record is added. We are flipping this around so that the discount is applied to the newer enrollment record instead. The total due from the family will not change. Action Required by Gym Review the Discounted Enrollments report (Report > Classes) to see the list of families potentially affected. You...
