Building Blocks: New Mind/Body Cycle!

Over the last three weeks you’ve balanced with the Champions, worked the Tots’ cores, and talked about independence and leadership with your Mites and Whiz Kids. Well done! Next week marks the end of the first Mind and Body Building Blocks cycle leading up to our Presentation week on February 9th. Please hand out stickers to all of the children in your Terrific Tots – Champions classes at the end of class, and instruct the kids to take them home and place them on their interactive Skill and Development sheets. Starting January 19th, you’ll embark on the next four-week Mind/Body cycle, as reflected in curriculum. There is no need to hand out new Skill and Development sheets at this time, unless a child has lost their original, in which case you should furnish their parents with a fresh copy of the age-appropriate sheet that was handed out the week of December 22nd. Do not hand out any ribbons until Presentation Week (February 9th). New materials for the subsequent round...

Building Blocks: Presentation Week and New Mind/Body Cycles!

Coming December 15th! ‘Tis the season for joy and merriment, and we’re adding one more celebration to the list: the 1st official new Building Blocks Presentation Ceremony!  Please be advised that next week’s curriculum will reflect the inclusion of Presentation Ceremonies in lieu of the game and ending for all Terrific Tots – Champions classes, so plan accordingly.  There’s still time to order stickers, ribbons, medals, and any other items through the ShopMyGym website. It is important to note that, in the Building Blocks revamp, we should recognize each child for his/her effort rather than outright achievement.  They’re not being rewarded for earning Blocks anymore; rather, they’re being recognized for putting forth effort, applying themselves, and persevering.  It’s also OK if some children are new and didn’t get a chance to test out their memory skills, or they missed the sports skills elements.  These new little My Gymers still deserve to be recognized for joining the class and participating at their individual levels.  They can still be given stickers for...

A Few Zumba® Reminders

TRAININGS Who’s rocking out with Zumba and loving it?! We love seeing the videos on everyone’s Facebook pages! We’re excited to let you all know that the first few months of the year are packed full with Zumba trainings! If you have not already licensed your instructors, now’s a great time to do so! You can look for Zumba Basic 1 and Zumba Kids** trainings in your area by searching here – http://www.zumba.com/en-US/trainings. Contact Anna.colosimo@zumba.com to register your instructors. **Please note that your instructors will be required to join the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN) in order to take the Zumba Kids training and remain licensed to teach the program. This is explained in more detail at the B1 training. USE OF ZUMBA® MARKETING MATERIALS All of the materials available (Exact Target, Online Ad System) for use with the promotion of your programs have gone through an extensive approval process with both the My Gym and Zumba® Corporate marketing and legal departments. Music Licensing 2015

Unfortunately, it is that time of the year again. The cost to be part of the negotiated group licensing program with SESAC, ASCAP, and BMI this year is $556, up about 3% from last year.  For you to be included in the program, we must receive your check or payment no later than January 15, 2015.  However, the companies need to have the list of participating locations by December 15th. Note:  If you are going to be in the program, it is important that you email Angela Campisi at acampisi@mygym.com by December 15th to let her know that you do want to be in the program. We have had many recent conversations with the companies, and none of them are going to accept any late payers.  They absolutely will not, and we don’t have the power to get you in the program if you’re late.  Please get your payment to us in time. The music licensing companies are coming stronger at franchisees every year.  We’re certain that, if you do...

Cardio Kids Revamp

Over the past year, we have been researching and testing a new and improved Cardio Kids program.  Many of you have requested a revamp of the program, and now it is here!  Beginning January 5, 2015, our new and improved format will implement the latest in fitness trends, keeping our program at the cutting edge of physical exercise for children.  The rate of childhood obesity is still on the rise, and this program will teach children that fitness is fun as well as how to have a healthy lifestyle. We are so excited to implement new equipment as well, including balance discs, kettle bells, body bars, dumbbells, medicine balls, resistance tubing and more!  The new required Cardio Kids equipment enhances the versatility of our ingredients and creates a more comprehensive, updated, and relevant program for our older kids, ages 7-10 years.  The programming includes new cardio/plyometric and muscular strength/endurance circuit stations as well as a new fundamental mobility and stability component.  Click Here to view the Equipment List and...

New Website Feature and a Few Reminders

We do understand that, as we increase the functionality of the BOSS tools, it is difficult to remember what does what.  Please consult with the Support team if you have any questions on the tools.  We now have added information on the tools to help guide you:  If you go to the “Edit your Websites and Schedules” section of the extranet, most of the input fields now have a “?” next to them that describes the functionality or gives information on what that field does.  A couple of reminders…. Use your “Alert.”  It is a great tool which gives important information that will probably be seen by all web surfers who visit your website. Articles:  Change them from time to time and make sure you don’t have too many.  People will be more apt to read them if you have a few.  If they see a long list, they might miss the more important ones. Use the “Careers” section; it definitely brings qualified applicants to franchises every day.  Some...

Optimized My Gym

If you haven’t done so already, now is a great time to transition your schedule to run optimized – before the end of year! The switch has been a smooth transition, and we’ve had nothing but all-around positive responses. Just a few examples:   By adapting to the Optimized My Gym model, you will be able to achieve the following and more: 1. Additional revenue: This model will enable the gym’s third and fourth classes to move earlier in the day and grow to a healthy level, whereas those time slots have previously been difficult to build. 2. Additional time: Shorter shifts, shorter classes, and shorter gaps between classes means more time to clean, rest, return phone calls, review, and perform other critical operational duties. 3. Reaching more children: By optimizing their schedules and offering more ideal class times, My Gyms have been able to reach more children in their communities and change more lives. It’s as easy as reaching out to your Support team, and we are here...
