Update on 40th Anniversary

We’re almost there!  Here are a few updates and “need-to-knows”: Promotional items will be arriving SOON! Free stickers, tattoos, and a wall sign (to be placed under your large logo sign) will be delivered to all US and Canadian gyms mid-January.  Look for an email from the Merchandise Division for additional items you can purchase to help celebrate our 40th.  Birthday Week is the first celebration, taking place January 30 – February 5. Important Notice Regarding Batch Payment Defects in MGM

Dear Franchisees, We want to notify you of two bugs that were recently identified and fixed in MGM. Both issues appeared during batch payment transactions. 1) Identical dollar amounts marked as duplicate transactions; payment date moved forward When two payments of the same dollar amount appeared next to each other on the batch list, one was erroneously marked as a duplicate and subsequently declined. The child’s payment date moved forward, though no money was collected. A fix was released last week, and all affected transactions were retroactively fixed. If you would like to double-check your records, review batch results going back to November 1st. Look for transactions marked DUPLICATE; then check that account to ensure their payment schedule is on track.   2) When an account has store credit, a batch marks the payment as collected but does not deplete the store credit. If the store credit on file is equal to or more than the amount due in the batch, the payment is collected with store credit but...

Zipwhip Update

Important Zipwhip Notice:We have received a notice from Zipwhip that our services may be blocked tomorrow, November 30, due to new regulations surrounding SMS messaging. Though MGE submitted the requested information earlier this month, we are still receiving notices warning of possible service interruptions. We are currently working with Zipwhip Support to ensure they have all the information they need to keep messages flowing. In the event that you experience issues with sending or receiving texts, please let Mae Perez know at mperez@mygym.com, but be aware that we are on the case. Update to Trials

We’re close to starting our 3rd year of “trials with auto-enrollment.” Wow, time flies! As always, we are committed to providing the best strategies to enroll clients. Therefore, at this time, we are formally recommending all gyms change from 2-week unlimited classes trials, to 1-week unlimited classes trials. First off, there is no issue with 2-week trials; it’s just that 1-week trials are better. Why? Additional revenue – We are charging the same amount, “1 week for $29.” The conversion from trial to member occurs faster. Clients still get an opportunity to try the gym more than one time. (Unlimited is recommended for your trial, even if your gym is not on unlimited classes.) Clients more easily remember the opt-out date within a 1-week period. We’ve tested this change for almost 6 months and have had zero issues and no drops in Facebook Ad leads, trial numbers, or conversion rates.
