Important Notice Regarding Birthday Party Bookings

Over the last few weeks, we have received reports of birthday parties being booked for 11:30 PM rather than 11:30 AM. All affected parties were booked on the website for time slots that began in AM (e.g., 11:30 AM) and end in PM (e.g., 1:00 PM). The Tech Team is working to identify the cause of this error, as it appears to be sporadic and random. In the meantime, please review all birthday party email confirmations as they come in. Affected parties will show the erroneous time slot in the email. If this issue appears in your gym, submit a ticket with as much information as possible: Parent and child names Date and time of booking (check transaction log) Date and time of birthday party If there were previously booked parties on the same day Thank you for your attention to this while we continue to investigate the root of the...

Thank you, My Gymers

With 2022 winding down, the My Gym Foundation cannot help but reflect on a significant year of serving children in need. Coming off of one of the most challenging periods for businesses and nonprofits alike, we are so encouraged that the Foundation continues to have a presence within your gyms. Thanks to your amazing generosity, in just this most recent fall season, the Foundation raised over $32,000! We are so incredibly grateful for another year of tremendous support. With this extraordinary commitment and the kindness of outside donors, we are able to help even more children this holiday season. We cannot think of anything more meaningful and special than that! Thank you dearly for your kindness and goodwill. In 2023, the Foundation is looking forward to getting back to “normal” with fundraising events planned for both in and out of the gym. With your help, our impact can be greater than ever before. We so appreciate each and every one of you for your dedication to creating moments that...

Important Notice Regarding Batch Payment Defects in MGM

Dear Franchisees, We want to notify you of two bugs that were recently identified and fixed in MGM. Both issues appeared during batch payment transactions. 1) Identical dollar amounts marked as duplicate transactions; payment date moved forward When two payments of the same dollar amount appeared next to each other on the batch list, one was erroneously marked as a duplicate and subsequently declined. The child’s payment date moved forward, though no money was collected. A fix was released last week, and all affected transactions were retroactively fixed. If you would like to double-check your records, review batch results going back to November 1st. Look for transactions marked DUPLICATE; then check that account to ensure their payment schedule is on track.   2) When an account has store credit, a batch marks the payment as collected but does not deplete the store credit. If the store credit on file is equal to or more than the amount due in the batch, the payment is collected with store credit but...

Zipwhip Update

Important Zipwhip Notice:We have received a notice from Zipwhip that our services may be blocked tomorrow, November 30, due to new regulations surrounding SMS messaging. Though MGE submitted the requested information earlier this month, we are still receiving notices warning of possible service interruptions. We are currently working with Zipwhip Support to ensure they have all the information they need to keep messages flowing. In the event that you experience issues with sending or receiving texts, please let Mae Perez know at mperez@mygym.com, but be aware that we are on the case. This is completely separate from the transition to Frontline and Zipwhip’s sunset date in December of 2023. Frontline Update:We are currently in the live testing phase with Frontline. There are a few wrinkles to iron out, and we will be ready to bring the first small group of gyms to join in the next week or so. Thank you for your continued...

Update to Trials

We’re close to starting our 3rd year of “trials with auto-enrollment.” Wow, time flies! As always, we are committed to providing the best strategies to enroll clients. Therefore, at this time, we are formally recommending all gyms change from 2-week unlimited classes trials, to 1-week unlimited classes trials. First off, there is no issue with 2-week trials; it’s just that 1-week trials are better. Why? Additional revenue – We are charging the same amount, “1 week for $29.” The conversion from trial to member occurs faster. Clients still get an opportunity to try the gym more than one time. (Unlimited is recommended for your trial, even if your gym is not on unlimited classes.) Clients more easily remember the opt-out date within a 1-week period. We’ve tested this change for almost 6 months and have had zero issues and no drops in Facebook Ad leads, trial numbers, or conversion rates. The trial promotion of “1 week of unlimited classes for $29” went off without a hitch! We encourage you...

My Gym Insurance

Insurance premiums through HUB have risen exponentially the last two years, and it’s an industry-wide issue.  While MGE has always shopped for alternative gym insurance, our search the last two years has intensified greatly.  Using the power of our critical mass and every possible advantage, we’ll continue to talk to other agents and insurance companies seeking the best and most affordable insurance for our My Gym owners.  Currently, HUB attained insurance is the most viable group option.   Hub-attained My Gym insurance includes Comprehensive Commercial General Liability (accident, medical, abuse, business interruption, and other protections); Subrogation and Additionally Insured; Property and Tenant Improvement.  Professional Liability and Employment Practices are optionally included. If you choose to shop for alternative gym insurance coverage, when communicating with your alternate broker (or insurance company representative directly), use the HUB letter referenced below to identify the various coverages you need.  The letter is comprehensive regarding coverage limits, additionally insured requirements, deductible, possible exclusions, etc.  The alternative broker will ask for information that should be available...

Training Seminars 2023! Save the date!

Best news ever!!!  We are so excited to let you know that we are able to host 2 Training Seminars in the summer of 2023.  Prior to the pandemic, we would host these types of events biennially (every 2 years), and the opposite years we would host an international conference.  These seminars give owners, directors, and teachers invaluable experience in training, idea shares, and system implementation from both MGE and our family of franchisees.  A Training Seminar is more than a great training experience; it always proves to be extremely motivational for both franchisees and your teams.  You do not want to miss this event.  We will be holding an east coast and a west coast seminar in 2023.  You can choose which one to go to, as the dates are below.  Start saving money now to attend one of the events!  More info on logistics, hotels, and agenda will be out at a later date.
