Chargebacks continue to be a topic of concern and general cause for frustration. In 2018, Global Payments reduced the Chargeback fee from $35 to $5; nonetheless, we want to minimize the amount we incur. (Note: The final decision on chargebacks is made by the card brand – Visa, Master Card, Discover, Amex.) It is advised that gyms follow the steps below to view chargeback disputes as they occur. This should be done on a regular basis, weekly at a minimum. Doing so will allow you the time needed to dispute them. Log in to MGM and go to Resources > Vendor/Partners. Then click on Global Payments to log in or sign up for the Global Merchant Portal. If you have trouble logging in, contact Global Support at 1-800-688-5378.From the Reporting Tab, click on the 4-Dot icon on the upper right section of the screen and then click Disputes. From here, you will be able to view and address any Chargebacks on your...

We recently released a comprehensive guide to reopening – the Reemergence Plan – that describes in detail how and when you should reopen your My Gym. As more states prepare to loosen stay-at-home orders, you will want to get with our Support Team to decide whether you will reopen in Level 2 or Level 3 of the Reemergence Plan. One of the questions that has come up is, “Will there be curriculum for this?” The answer is YES! Just in time for the week of 5/18, you will notice that we have added both Level 2 and Level 3 programming to the Curriculum Center. Here is a quick guide on how to best utilize this new curricula. Level 2: In Level 2, you will be hosting semiprivate playdates at the gym (this is known as My Gym Live Plus Playdates). Each week, MGE will offer two sets of MGLPP curricula: one for younger and one for older, each 30 minutes. Depending on the age range of the children who...

Last month, several MGE team members met with a group of franchisees to discuss potential options as it pertains to camp – whether and how it may fit into the My Gym LIVE model. In the days after the meeting, while we struggled to find the right LIVE camp options, mayors and governors around the country announced timelines for reopening their cities and states. We are now at a crossroads wherein certain areas of the country are getting ready to reopen their doors, and other states will likely be following. It is our belief that, if you are permitted to begin reopening, operating at Level 2 or 3 from the Reemergence Plan will be much more beneficial than running a virtual camp, both financially and for future growth of all gyms. The fact is that nothing can really beat the “in-gym” experience. We also do not believe a virtual camp would generate the kind of revenue to make it a worthy investment of time and payroll; there are many...

As we begin to shift into the next stage of “new normal,” we understand your wanting to get a lead into what clients are thinking. It’s not really necessary, but, if you should feel the need, we’ve prepared a short survey to collect data, learn when clients are thinking of returning, and identify in which programs they will be enrolling. An online form has been provided for you in MGM. Go to Admin > Website > Articles / Online Forms > “Feedback Request” to modify and activate. Submissions are sent to you via email and are saved in Report > Website > Online Forms. As always, email support@mygym.com if you have additional...

As you have heard, a few US states and some countries are preparing to reopen their economies by allowing some businesses to open. Even though MGE’s stance is that My Gyms should open when they are allowed to, we must be prepared for the possibility that: Your state/country may need to take a step back and shut down businesses again.A percentage of your clientele may not be ready to leave their homes or attend a program like My Gym. We are in unprecedented times. If you are considering reopening, please read the entire Reemergence Plan, note your questions and feelings, and contact MGE Support (support@mygym.com) to speak about your specific situation. In an effort to keep enhancing the My Gym LIVE experience, we are adding a new class to the Curriculum Center! Beginning with Week 6 of curriculum, Gymnastics class programs (for both Level 1 and Level 2) will be available. The program is intended for children ages 5 and up, and does not replace Super Kids. You may elect to run both programs on your schedule if you wish. As with the in-gym program, you don’t need any special background in gymnastics to run this program, though having some base-level familiarity doesn’t hurt. This LIVE class will work best when taught by teachers who previously led the in-gym program. All ingredients in the LIVE version of the Gymnastics program require no spotting and no special equipment. Just inform your participants they will need a wide space with no furniture or hard edges near the student. If you previously ran Gymnastics in your gym and offered more than one level (i.e., levels one and two), you may run both levels...

Parents showing up for class without booking their class for the day? Still dealing with the headache of constantly walking clients through unlimited scheduling every day? As My Gym LIVE continues, you can simplify your process. One of the most important factors for parents is EASE. If the current system seems cumbersome for parents or if clients are consistently having trouble scheduling, consider the following recommended changes. Utilize an MGL PDF schedule. You can find them in the My Gym LIVE category of the Print System. There are multi-day options with variations in number of days and classes per day. Now there is also a schedule with the space to include your Zoom meeting ID within the schedule.Send out to all current members along with the Zoom link for class and post in the Private Members Facebook Group.Allow members to come to any class.Optional: Have members text or comment with any classes they would like to attend so you can schedule their Unlimited Classes in...

It’s a confusing time! When a member emails you, do you wonder, “Should we call them? Should we email? Now that you are all veritable Zoom stars, it’s time to take the LIVE show on the (virtual) road! Preschools and elementary schools everywhere are finessing their distance learning plans for the rest of the school term. Academic subjects and the arts lend themselves easily to the Zoom and Google Classroom experience. It is, however, comparatively much harder for schools to provide critically-needed physical education to their students. That’s where WE come in! Some My Gyms have had great success turning their mobile programs and LGE schools and daycares into customers for My Gym LIVE. Some schools pay for private classes (like a mobile contract), and some schools simply refer their students to My Gym to sign up for LIVE directly. It is a great way to keep physical activity at the forefront of children’s eyes during this time. Click here for the directives so you can start contacting your schools today and become the preferred physical education program in your community! In addition to directives, MGE is providing...
