How the Facebook Shop section uses your organic social engagement to drive sales!

Looking to shorten the gap between someone’s scrolling down their feed and deciding to purchase a service from your My Gym? Whether it be classes, camps, or parties, now Instagram has a SHOP feature that can help you do just that. It has been reported that 47% of millennials say their purchase decisions are influenced by social media. In addition to using Social Media more often than previous generations, millennials are also using it differently. They are 29% more likely to make a same-day purchase when Social Media is involved. Because we are a brand and a small business, we would be wise to take advantage of this. We tested this over the holiday break to sell camp slots, with the following results: 10 camp spots booked 6 customers inquired further 22 direct clicks through to the website The solution is as simple as adding some of your basic information into the shop sections of Facebook and Instagram. From your posts, your followers can then be directed straight to...

Subject Line Hacks

We all get bombarded with multiple emails a day. This is a sample inbox of one of our clients. She will spend only seconds looking at your subject line before deciding whether to open it or delete it. How can we make our emails stand out? Follow these industry-proven Subject Line Hacks religiously: Keep it short. Under 40 characters or about 5-7 words is best. Take out anything spammy. Avoid loud punctuation, multiple exclamation points, and overtly promotional language. MORE CAPS does not equal more opens. Covering your subject line in caps WiLl NoT HeLp YoU. Users find them annoying or like “click bait.” Use them sparingly and responsibly, like grenades! Know your audience. Matching your audience’s interests and mannerisms is essential if you really want solid open rates. Write multiple subject lines. You should write 5 subject lines for every email. Then choose the best. The provided MGE templates all follow these guidelines, so it is best not to alter them. For a little extra help when you...

A Formal Introduction: Welcome Dominique Recinos

Remembering every parent’s and child’s name isn’t the only skill Dominique was capable of accomplishing; her passion and commitment in working with children enabled her to go beyond her limits and achieve much more from working at My Gym. Drawing on her 10 years of experience in child development and physical education, Dominique has proven herself to be an outstanding dance, cheerleading and gymnastics coach for elementary through middle-school students, is exceptionally talented in motor skill therapy for children with special needs, and has trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis for children on the Autism Spectrum. Dominique graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from California State University Northridge in 2009 and discovered My Gym immediately following graduation. Starting as a Lead Teacher, she quickly developed her skills, becoming a Head Trainer and Co-Director at the Encino Formal Training Center. She has trained over one hundred My Gym owners and directors, all while expertly maintaining the enrollment numbers of 500 children year after year. During her time at Encino, Dominique...

Apple Store vs. My Gym

If we blindfolded you, dropped you into an Apple Store, and asked you to open your eyes, you would instantly know exactly where you are.  Same applies if you are looking at an Apple email or visiting their website.  Apple and all great companies strictly follow their brand rules and guidelines.  Want to paint the Apple store walls pink?  How about maybe add a big tree graphic to the emails (since apples grow on trees).  No and no; those are not within their brand guidelines.  Consumers would be turned off by it, and the brand would get muddled. We may not be as big as Apple (YET!), but why not operate as they do?  Our new “Moments that Matter” campaign is out, but it’s not established yet.  That takes time and consistency.  We’ll get there.  To help, we’ve created our *NEW* “My Gym Brand and Style Guide.”  It contains info on our demographic, target audience, and “Ideal Customer” plus guidelines for graphic design, fonts, etc.  Give it a read...

Segmentation – A Powerful Email Marketing Mechanism

Segmentation is a seemingly simple but very powerful email marketing mechanism. Stop sending general emails with no relevancy to your subscribers. Instead, start sending highly targeted emails that your subscribers actually want by segmenting your email list. Think about it…does it make sense to send your Parents Night Out email to a Tiny Tyke? No. Sending these irrelevant emails cuts your open rate by 40% and results in 25% more unsubscribes. Check out this quick video about segmentation that was pulled from our Email Best Practices tutorial. To watch the full video, go to the Webinars & Tutorials page on MGM. Winter Olympic Games Marketing

The Winter Olympics are just around the corner, February 9-25.  To help your marketing efforts, MGE will be providing graphics to leverage the excitement and drive more leads and business to your doors.  We will also schedule posts through the Social Media Roundup on Sprout before and throughout the games. It is very important to understand what we can and cannot do regarding intellectual property, trademarked images/phrases, etc.  Unfortunately, the International Olympics Committee (IOC) has very strict rules and very actively protects their trademarks, so businesses that are not paying sponsors of the Olympics are not allowed to use the marks or any of their property without the risk of serious repercussions.  Please visit this website to see all the extensive rules and details.  Here are the highlights: What you may NOT do:  Olympics logo (5 rings), Team USA, and “PyeongChang 2018” Olympics graphics/images may not be used in any way, including social media. Furthermore, you may not create your own that look similar (with hula hoops, pizzas, wheels,...
