Caribbean Sol- Posters and Hanging Hardware

The marketing materials from Caribbean Sol are arriving at all North American gyms this week. Unfortunately, there was a mix up with the printer, and the hanging hardware for the poster was not included in the shipments. This has just come to our attention, and we are very sorry for this. Here are options for what to do now: If you have an extra set of hanging hardware from a past marketing program, please use that set. If you don’t have an extra set, but you have suitable wall/window space in your lobby that you are comfortable utilizing, please hang the poster that way. If neither of the above options apply to you, please keep the poster in the tube while we come up with a hanging hardware solution. We will notify you very soon when we do. In all cases, please place the window/front door decal upon receipt. Thank you. If you have any questions, please direct them to...

If you plan on sending a large blast (3-4K+ subscribers) between now and Monday, kindly let Mae know at mperez@mygym.com so that we can monitor the activity during this initial stage. You should be able to send your campaign without issue, but it would be helpful for us to have an idea of the volume. We ask that you try sending your next campaign through the new system. If you have personal images or copy stored in ExactTarget, they will not be transferred to the new system, so be sure to save copies as needed. 2nd Annual MGCA Halloween Party Event!

As autumn fast approaches, My Gym is pleased to announce our participation in the second annual MGCA Halloween Fundraising Event! Last year’s Halloween event brought great success, with over 50 gyms participating to raise more than $20,000 for children in need. Our national MGCA PNO this April was even bigger; 90 gyms raised $26,000. Our goal for Halloween this year is to raise $30,000 with 100+ gyms participating! We love the growing enthusiasm toward MGCA and cannot do this without your help. Just as last year, we ask that every gym participate in this national fundraiser by adding a $3 donation to your admission fee for the party. If you already charge, you can raise the price by $3 and donate those proceeds to MGCA. If you do not, please ask for a $3 donation per member in attendance. In the past, gyms have found great success raising all or nearly all their “100% Program” $1,000 goal in one event with minimal additional effort. They also receive very little...

Email Platform / ExactTarget Termination Reminder

Please be reminded of these important dates. We have added clarification to some items below. IMPORTANT EXACTTARGET CUTOFF DATES: Do not schedule emails further out than September 15th. We understand that many gyms stay on track by planning and scheduling weeks in advance; we apologize for the temporary inconvenience. This is a strong recommendation from MGE. All gyms should be using the new platform in the second half of September, so we do not want you to do double work. Limit your email blasts beginning September 1st until all gyms are fully transitioned onto the new platform (est. September 15th). Utilize targeted sends to smaller lists, or focus more on social media marketing during this transitional period. You may continue to market your major events as you normally would. When we say “limit,” we are asking that you please use your best judgment without hindering your efforts, and to employ these standard best practices: Consider social media channels for items that are not major marketing initiatives. Take extra care to make...

Marketing Opt-In/Opt-Out Function

We have added a new function to MGM that allows customers to control their marketing email subscription status upon signup. In many countries (e.g., Canada and the UK), this is a legal requirement. The function is toggled OFF for US gyms since it is not yet required by law in the states. You can toggle the setting here: Admin > Website > Settings > Show Marketing Email Opt-In on Email Collection. When enabled, a checkbox appears on any page that collects an email address. Pages include Contact Us, Account Registration, Party Sign-In, and Online Forms (if an email field is included). Customers can control their opt-in/opt-out status from the Profile tab of their client interface. Sample Checkbox: In certain areas (website footer, “Free Class” splash page offer), this fine print will appear: By entering your email, you consent to receive emails about My Gym’s promotions, upcoming events, and gym news. You can unsubscribe at any time. We respect your right to privacy and will never share your information with...

We wish we could hold a webinar right now, but the truth is you already know how to use it! Yes, it’s true! My Gym Wellness Challenge 2018!

Hi Team, During these next 2 months before Conference, we are launching a Wellness Challenge across ALL My Gyms! Leading up to Conference and going into the holidays can be a stressful time, so we are proposing a Fitness and Mindfulness Challenge! Scientifically backed to lower stress levels, meditation improves productivity and offers additional positive health benefits. Meditation, combined with staying physically active, is a valuable ingredient of a happy, healthy lifestyle! So, we challenge YOU to carry out a 5-minute meditation reboot every day and to strive to reach 10,000 steps per day. If you do not have a Fitbit or Apple Watch, the health app on an iPhone can help you get an idea of your step count (while your phone is on your person). Easy ways to do this are: Make the meditation part of your routine. (e.g., Brush teeth, meditate, start your day – Or brush teeth, meditate, decompress to end your day) Take 5 minutes at lunchtime to slow down and reboot yourself with...

The Future of Sprout Social

We apologize for the change, but, as of September 1, 2018, locations will no longer have access to the Sprout Social software.  MGE will still be using Sprout Social and posting directly to your accounts, but My Gyms will no longer have a free (paid by Marketing Fund) Sprout Social account.  Please do not schedule any content to be published after September 1st. Why the big change? We apologize to those of you who use and enjoy the software; however, because of low usage, we are unable to renew our 18-month contract.  Sprout Social is funded through the Marketing Fund; and, since this is not benefiting the majority of the franchise body, we have decided to allocate the funds elsewhere.      What is NOT changing? If you are part of our Social Media System, we will still be providing the following: Weekly Social Media Roundup (SMR) MGE will continue to publish three times per week on your social accounts. (MGE is continuing to use Sprout Social.) Reporting – We...

MGCA Moment – Week of 7/30-8/5

For this week’s MGCA Moment, we found an inspiring quote on disabilities from a thirteen-year-old boy. Please read this out loud to your team at your next meeting: “Disability is natural. We must stop believing that disabilities keep a person from doing something. Because that’s not true… Having a disability doesn’t stop me from doing anything.” – Benjamin Snow, Grade 8, in his essay, “Attitudes About People with...
