Credit Card Chargebacks

Chargebacks continue to be an ongoing issue for My Gyms and other businesses who use recurring billing. With that said, we are extremely pleased to announce some changes set forth by our valued vendor, Global Payments. Through much negotiation, Global has agreed to reduce the Chargeback fee from $35 to just $5. Occasionally, there is an additional Retrieval fee which has been reduced from $20 to $2.50. Vistaprint and Print Items Update

We are very close to launching the new Vistaprint portal and relationship, but we are sorry to say we’re not quite there yet.  Unfortunately, completing the final details is taking longer than anticipated.  Here are a few answers to common questions. Q:  What can I do in the meantime? A:  Continue using the My Gym Print System.  You may have artwork printed through a local printer, All Printing, or Vistaprint’s retail website.  Also consider going paperless on items like class schedules, which may be accessed online. Q:  Are there any coupon codes for Vistaprint? A:  No codes or coupons are available through our partnership.  If you have shopped at Vistaprint before, you likely receive emails with coupons.  You may also visit the site directly to see if they are running any specials. Web-Based Curriculum is getting an upgrade: the addition of Practice and Play!  Beginning next week, when you access your weekly curriculum, you’ll be able to open a tab specifically for Practice and Play.  Inside, you’ll find all the necessary notes to run a smooth “by-the-book” program, along with all the rounds you need to know for the two Skill Stations. Important ReachEdge Update

We would like to thank all who have participated in the ReachEdge test program. We are happy to say that the feedback on the overall ease of use and process of sending emails has been positive (and way easier than Exact Target!). There has also been feedback about features that are not currently available but are in the works to be added in the near future. We have taken the advice of our testers and are accelerating the development of these items so that everyone can hit the ground running with a complete program. This means that, yes, we’re moving back the timeline a bit again and postponing the webinar to a future date to be determined, but don’t worry; the Exact Target end date is moving too. Texting Options

We have considered various texting options and were unable to find the “perfect” solution. Based on the survey feedback, most of us wanted a free option. Unfortunately, there are a limited number of free options available that do what we want. A texting app would not be used for marketing purposes and therefore will not be added to the Marketing Budget. This will solely be used for administrative purposes. It is important to note that texting for marketing purposes without written permission is illegal and can result in fines of up to $1,500 per text message. If you would like to look into this further, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act details out exactly what can and cannot be sent. Texting should be used only for confirmations, make-ups, closures, etc. (administrative purposes). We found two great options, Vonage and Remind.
