Space Flight Update

It has come to our attention that several gyms have had equipment failures with their Space Flights. In all cases, the failure has had to do with how the turnbuckle was attached to the low end of the column. If you have not done so this month, please complete the Equipment and Maintenance Checklist. Please pay close attention to the Space Flight attachment. If a carabiner like the one pictured below is being used, it needs to be replaced immediately with an anchor shackle. We are overwhelmed by the encouragement and generosity we have experienced from the 100% Program this year. Thanks to your help, we have more than doubled the amount of money raised by the My Gym Community in 2016, and we cannot thank you enough. This money will bring smiles to countless faces in the coming year as we purchase life-changing medical equipment and assistive devices for the brave children battling physical and developmental challenges. Children just like Benjamin: 12-month-old Benjamin has Kyphois, a severe curvature of the spine that can press on the spinal cord and result in paralysis. He currently is in the middle of six months of full-body casting to help correct the spinal deformity, and this casting prohibits Benjamin from doing anything but lying flat on his back. Now Kids Can Wear Socks at My Gym!

As you know, since My Gym first opened its doors many years ago, one of the rules has been that kids must go barefoot on the floor. However, times have changed, grip sock technology has advanced and, after careful consideration, MGE has decided to let kids have the option to wear approved socks on the floor. Why did MGE consider changing the barefoot/sock policy? MGE considered several factors while evaluating this change: Some parents want their kids to wear socks for health, safety, and comfort (including warmth during cold weather). Some gyms want the option to let kids wear socks. Some kids want to wear socks. Socks have effective grips that enable kids to safely and properly participate in My Gym activities. Grand Openings

This Thanksgiving season we are extremely thankful and excited to announce a number of grand openings across North America. On November 4th, we added two My Gyms to our growing family. Alyse and Ed Rudin opened their third location in New Providence, NJ. At the same time, Itohan Orumwense opened her doors in Ottawa, ON. Both locations just completed their first week of classes and are happily serving their communities. Weiwei Xiang opened her doors on November 18th in Richmond, BC. There are so many reasons to be thankful this season, and this year we have a special one. Club My Gym Update

Since our last communication, many intensive meetings have taken place regarding Club My Gym, our dynamic exercise-based preschool video content. As you know, the original plan was to launch Club My Gym as an added value extension of the My Gym program for preschool aged members. Our plan was to encourage participating gyms to justify and implement a price increase based in part on the added value of the Club My Gym curriculum. After our town hall meeting, MGE took the concerns raised by several franchisees to heart. We included those concerns and other data in our discussions with our marketing consultants at Plush Digital, and came away with the following adjusted proposed game plan. Club My Gym will be housed on YouTube rather than a paid web platform. As a result, there will be no immediate cost to franchisees. Web-Based Curriculum Update

The first week of our new digital curriculum is in the books, and we are happy to hear how helpful it has been to both new and veteran teachers to have an interactive platform for reviewing programming. Since the launch, we have added a couple of new features: Landing page with links to “at a glance” and individual age group pages: “Jump to…” dropdown menu within age group pages for quick navigation: Improved print output of “at a glance” page After the launch, we saw how important it was for many gyms to have a neatly printed version of the “at a glance” or “preview” page. Prior to our fix, some age groups might have spilled over to the next page, which was not ideal. The Spirit of Snowmen!

As we gear up for the Holiday Season and end of the year, there is still time to reach your 100% Program goal of raising $1,000 to help children in need. To assist you with this goal, we have created a simple and easy Snowman fundraiser. Similar to the Shamrock and Apple fundraisers, parents make donations to My Gym Challenged America and receive snowman cutouts on which students names will be written. Get ready to hop, hop, hop with the new My Gym branded hopper ball. A fun addition to My Gym, these inflatable balls help kids learn balance and coordination skills while having a blast.
