A release is scheduled for Sunday, February 4th at 9:00 PM ET. The release will require a server reboot that may cause MGM and the website to go offline for 5-10 minutes. We aim to announce planned downtime with as much notice as possible. Sometimes, however, issues arise between announcement and release that necessitate rescheduling. We want to inform you of a server error that some locations experienced upon logging into MGM. The error was due to the system timing out while calculating the paid enrollment number. We have implemented a fix so that this should not happen any longer. Should this error appear in your MGM, please contact tech@mygym.com and we will resolve the issue ASAP. Over the weekend, we worked directly with a few gyms to fix the enrollment number calculation. Thanks to the meticulous records these gyms kept, we were able to verify that the current numbers are where they should be. Please contact the Help Desk with any questions. +++ We understand that there is concern over some drops in numbers. We will spend the next few days analyzing the calculation again to ensure it is as accurate as possible. In the meantime, we recommend not factoring the paid enrollment number into any business decisions until further notice. We will send another update in a few days. Thank you and we apologize for any inconvenience. +++ Last year, the paid enrollments number and definition were updated to omit accounts that have reached the 6 weeks delinquent mark. From the moment Brooklynn Berryhill joined My Gym in 2010, she found herself on an incredible ride. Instantly feeling at home, she dedicated herself to the My Gym world, quickly progressing from Lead Teacher to Director at two Florida locations – Lake Mary and Maitland. Having demonstrated a wealth of exceptional skills and a whole lot of heart, Brooklynn was awarded “Director of the Year” 3 times and helped bring her gyms to their highest enrollment numbers with nearly 500 children enrolled. She also created and ran a successful dance program in the gyms that reached 120 dancers and entertained audiences of 600+ with onstage recitals twice a year. Brooklynn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising & Public Relations with a Minor in Business from the University of Central Florida in 2015. My Gym Franchisees, After much analysis and thought, we are formally making the following changes to the core My Gym Model. While these changes are not mandated, we do feel that all My Gym franchisees should switch these policies and procedures for the reasons listed below. MODEL UPDATE: “New” Cancellation Policy What is changing? We are formally advising all My Gyms to switch back to the pre-pandemic cancellation policy: Cancelling requires a 30-day notice (NOT a full payment). We are also updating the policy to require that all cancellations be submitted online on the member’s My Gym account. Cancellations via email, text, or in person should no longer be permitted. This will ensure a smooth process in adherence with the new policy as well as leave a clear paper trail. Why is this changing? My Gym Franchisees, We have a couple of updates on your Marketing Fund. A New Name: The Marketing Fund will be known as the “Marketing and Services Fund” (MSF) going forward. We feel this is the most appropriate name, since the fund is primarily used to pay for business services that franchisees use day to day (email platform, texting platform, graphic design, etc.). A Refund: We are happy to announce that a refund is on its way to you now via paper check. The fund has been operating at a surplus. That surplus accumulated, and instead of allocating those funds, we will be providing you a refund. We hope you choose to allocate it to marketing efforts in your market. Rayna Lamberti began teaching at My Gym Pasadena in 2003 while earning her Liberal Studies degree at Cal Poly Pomona. After graduating and having proved herself to be an outstanding and talented My Gymer, she made the decision not to pursue her teaching credential and instead stay with My Gym. She transferred to My Gym Toluca Lake in 2006, where she acted as Director for 13 years. Additionally, as a valued member of the MGE Training Division, she helped train many franchisees and directors during her time at both gyms. Throughout her years at My Gym Toluca Lake, Rayna grew so much, as did her family! She married her husband, Joey, in 2007 and then welcomed twin boys, Jamison and Dominic, in 2012. We have identified an issue with manually overridden payments on some MGM accounts. Accounts with a “Manual Override” payment amount in the child’s “Payment Option” screen may have reverted to the default class price. We recently learned that Yelp sales representatives have been contacting My Gyms again. They’ve stated that they are dedicated My Gym representatives and the purpose of their call is to discuss advertising on Yelp. Please be advised that MGE does not have a partnership or arrangement with Yelp for their advertising platform. We do NOT advise that franchisees advertise with Yelp for various reasons because it is easy for My Gym to be found organically (for free without paying) on Yelp.
