MGM Help Desk Update – Please Read

The Tech Team has outgrown our current Help Desk and will be transitioning to a new platform this week. You will receive an email (gym account) from MGM Tech Support inviting you to join the Help Desk portal in the next few hours. Please claim your account as soon as you receive the email. If you do not receive it by Thursday and it is not in your spam folder, please contact glevi@mygym.com for assistance. All new tickets should be initiated from the portal in order to streamline communication and promptly resolve any issues. Once a ticket has been initiated, you may send and receive replies either through the portal or via email. You can also use the portal to access all closed and active tickets that were submitted by your location account. Though tech@mygym.com will remain active, we ask that you use the portal to create new tickets or inquiries regarding MGM or the website. *Please note that the Help Desk links will be updated in MGM no...

New Videos Added To Online Training Courses

We’re excited to announce that two new videos have been added to the Online Training Courses in MGM: “Disability and Sensitivity Training” and “Diversity and Implicit Bias Training.” Both are well-designed and tie diversity and inclusion to the vision, mission, values, and goals of our My Gym organization. Our aim is to ensure that every My Gym is a welcoming workplace that empowers underrepresented groups and makes each individual feel valued and respected. We ask that all owners, directors, and staff members watch these videos in their entirety to increase collaboration, enhance interpersonal skills, elevate employee morale, and learn how to value all aspects of diversity with coworkers, clients, customers, and the community at large.   For questions on the training videos, please reach out...

Celebrating the Women of My Gym

It’s Women’s History month, and MGE would like to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible women within our franchise community. From our very beginning, women have been an integral part of My Gym’s success. In just the US alone, with 170 gyms and 145 unique owners, 74 of those gyms are female owned. These women have shown amazing tenacity, passion, and strength in making My Gym what it is today, and we are proud to have them represent our brand. To all our special women of My Gym… Our gratitude is overflowing. We recognize the challenges you endure as women in business and so appreciate your extreme efforts in facing those obstacles. Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work. We honor you dearly, not just today but always. ...

No Conferences in 2021

Hello My Gym Family, We hope this finds you healthy and doing well. We regret to inform you that there will be no conference or in-person training seminars in the year 2021. Within a few months, we will have a better plan on how we will meet again as a group in 2022, and we’ll notify everyone as soon as we have more details. Because we are currently releasing new programs, protocols, marketing, and all business developments as they occur, you are still receiving the most current information and support. Of course, we DO see great value in gathering together, collaborating and sharing best practices in person, and definitely plan to meet in the future. Whether or not we hold virtual webinars/meetings in 2021 will be determined as the year unfolds, and we’ll keep you up to date. We miss these events dearly and can’t wait until the next time we can meet. Thank you, MGE...

Gabby’s Dollhouse Curriculum Integration

The Programming Team has created fun Gabby’s Dollhouse-themed ingredients, which you will find throughout the curriculum from 3/1 – 3/21. This integration is part of our exciting partnership with DreamWorks Animation. If you have any watercolor sheets left, you can hand them out during March. Enjoy! Gabby’s Dollhouse has been a top children’s series on Netflix since it premiered in January. My Gym kids around the world are going to love participating in the themed activities at My Gym. To learn more about the show and the characters, please visit https://www.dreamworks.com/shows/gabbys-dollhouse. You’ll also find a My Gym logo with a link to our website in the “Partners” section of that DreamWorks Animation website. To highlight the curriculum, we have included suggested posts in the Social Media Roundup. Tag @MyGymFun and use #GabbysDollhouse on your Instagram photos and videos. We may use these posts in our Instagram stories. You can also email photos and videos of your students enjoying the themed curriculum to strategicpartners@mygym.com. We’ll send these to the team at DreamWorks Animation. ...

Important Info Regarding Reading Across America Week

As we close out Black History Month and transition to our next cause for celebration – Reading Across America – MGE finds it important to relay some information to our franchise body. Reading Across America was initially celebrated in the first week of March to coincide with Dr. Seuss’s birthday. However, in 2017, mentions of Seuss were purposefully dropped from the program. Consequently, we need to warn you about the potential backlash you may receive if you choose to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday within your individual gym and/or over social media. Dr. Seuss, while often celebrated for his beloved classics that helped generations of children to read, has also been the subject of criticism and rebuke over racism and sexism in his earlier works.   We understand that not everyone may be aware of the controversy surrounding Seuss or his books, so this may be a bit of a surprise. That’s ok! We’re all learning together, and, sometimes, examining our preconceptions can be challenging! As humans, our brains automatically...

MGM Release – Saturday, February 20 at 8 PM ET

⚠️ The release will require a server reboot that may cause MGM and the website to go offline for 5-10 increments between 8:00 PM-9:00 PM ET. Please follow MGE’s posts in the Facebook MGE Community for changes or updates. After the release is complete, we recommend clearing your cache before resuming work in MGM. Contact the Help Desk at tech@mygym.com if you experience any issues. +++ In the past two weeks, MGE has helped more than 70 gyms begin the Premium Operations Model onboarding process. Training is ongoing, and we are happy to see so many gyms jump at the opportunity to “POM-ify” their operations. If you haven’t already, please watch the Premium Operations Model recorded webinar and email support@mygym.com if you are interested in proceeding. Do not take any steps on your own; gyms must be onboarded by an MGE Support Team member. To help you through the process of converting MGM and website settings for POM, we have created a library of guides along with an Action...

Black History Month in Curriculum

February is Black History Month, and we at My Gym want to honor all Black Americans through conscientious thoughts, words, and deeds. As you may have seen, we recently released coloring pages for our My Gym kids to enjoy when they visit the gym, and we’ve also designed a Black History Month-themed edition of Mymo’s Memos. But wait; there’s more! MGE’s Diversity Board and our Programming Division have worked together to create some programming integrations you will see throughout curricula in February. From relays, to songs, dances, and even our Kidpower Minute – we’re highlighting Black Olympians and athletes, musicians, artists, and more. We’d also like to encourage everyone to integrate music from Black artists across all (kid-appropriate) musical genres. Search Spotify, Apple Music, or Pandora for Black History Month-inspired playlists and add your favorites to Coming-In, Explore Time, Separation Time, etc. Additionally, if anyone in the My Gym community would like to recommend specific artists or songs, share it on the Facebook board! We would love to see...

POM Webinar Recording

The wait is over! For those who were unable to attend the Premium Operational Model Webinar in real time this week, we’re happy to announce the recorded version is now available. You can see what all the excitement is about by going to MGM > Resources > Training Tools > Webinars.  Note: The Support Team will not begin individually training franchisees on the Premium Operations Model (or “POM”) until the first week of February, after everything has been finalized on the technical side. In the meantime, please do NOT make any significant changes to your prices, schedules, policies, etc. If you have questions after viewing the webinar, or if you’re interested in onboarding as soon as possible,...

Diversity Matters: New Training Video on Implicit Bias

As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” In the midst of so much division by race, gender inequality, and more, this question has never been more significant to MGE than now. It’s time for all of us to dig deep and make the biggest impact we can for others, for everyone. MGE is proud to introduce a new diversity training tool for you and your staff. A video focusing on implicit basis and diversity in the work place has been added to MGM > Resources > Training Tools > Webinars. We ask that you take 35 minutes out of your staff meeting over the next week or two to watch the video as a team. If, however, it is logistically impossible to watch as a team, please assign it as required individual viewing for all staff members. MGE asks that all My Gymers watch this important training video by February 1st, as we begin Black...

Premium Operations Model Webinar

As you have seen in December’s “BIG NEWS!” update, we are getting ready to unveil a new model for operating your My Gym in 2021 and beyond. All of us at MGE are excited and hopeful for the future, and we truly appreciate all of the enthusiasm we’ve seen for this project since our announcement. Though we’d love to get everybody onboarded tomorrow, due process is important; we must get it RIGHT. Therefore, because of the multitude of changes and upgrades that will be released, the Support Team will not begin individually training franchisees on the Premium Operations Model (or “POM”) until the first week of February, after everything is finalized on the technical side. In the meantime, please do NOT make any significant changes to your prices, schedule, policies, etc.   In less than two weeks, we will host a webinar on all things POM! Please make time in your schedule to attend this very important event – MGE will present the model itself, provide context/details, and also...

In Honor of You

Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” We at MGE and MGF love what we do. And, though the responsibility weighs heavily, we feel honored to be able to give as well. This year for Giving Tuesday, the My Gym Foundation and My Gym Enterprises teamed up to give back in honor of all of you. In lieu of asking for MGF donations this year, a contribution has been made to Black Girls Code, a program that empowers Black girls to “imagine, build, and create” in the world of STEM. We donated to Feed the Children, an organization that “helps kids be kids” by providing nutritious food options to families in need. A donation was also made to the Lollipop Theater Network through their Mission Smiles campaign, a program that delivers currently-playing movies to children in the hospital battling life-threatening illnesses. It is a privilege for our team to support important causes such as the...

NEW On Demand Video Library

MGE is creating a subscription video website that will be accessible to your paying My Gym members only.  The site is a collection of prerecorded clips of classes or short classes from MGE and My Gyms around the world (submitted back in March and April).  We expect that, with your help, the site will host hundreds of videos for My Gym members.  Your members will be able to access the site if they are enrolled and paying tuition at your location.  More details on this to come in a future update. My Gyms, we need your help! To help build this library, we are asking all My Gyms to please send in your “on-demand” videos.  Videos previously shot are appreciated, as we are trying to build the library quickly.  You may upload them via this Dropbox link.  That said, shooting new videos would also help the effort.  Thank you! A little criteria: Length of videos can range from short 5-minute videos to full 30/45-minute classes. Please send in/shoot videos in...
