MGM Update and Release Notes – Important Reminder re: Email Campaigns

We received reports of some “send now” emails not being sent. To avoid uncertainty and time lost, we have added an additional alert within the campaign that confirms your email has been placed in the queue. If, after clicking send, you do not see “Send Now, *allow up to 1 hour for send to begin” in the grid, press Send Campaign Now again. It should appear immediately if successful. The email server begins releasing the queue at 5 minutes past the hour, every hour. +++ Please refer to the update sent on September 17th to review the complete list of MGM changes and enhancements released earlier this week. Please consider joining us on Friday, September 27th and try your luck at blackjack, roulette, craps, and poker! A Formal Introduction: Welcome Elliot Krayer

MGE is thrilled to have Elliot Krayer on board as a full-time Support team member. When Elliot started working as an instructor at My Gym Pasadena in 2009, he had no idea of the amazing journey he had just begun. He was talented, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated to making a positive impact wherever life led him. His goal at My Gym was simple: to make sure each child felt loved, valued, and important. After fine-tuning his skills as an instructor, demonstrating his wonderful way with all children, and proving himself to be efficient, organized, and extremely capable, Elliot was named Co-Director of the gym in 2016. He has trained more than one hundred new My Gym owners and staffs, has worked contractually for MGE for the last few years, has proven himself the consummate My Gymer, and has become a sterling and influential role model to so many young children in the Pasadena and local surrounding areas. His favorite class age to teach? Tots! Elliot is a graduate of...

MGF Halloween Party Event – It’s Time!

As Autumn fast approaches, My Gym is pleased to announce our continued participation in the annual MGF Halloween Fundraising Event! Last year’s Halloween parties brought great success, with over 70 gyms participating to raise more than $26,500 for kids in need. Our national MGF PNO this April was even bigger; 90 gyms raised almost $30,000, and the top fundraising gym, My Gym Orange, raised over $1,200!!! Our goal for Halloween this year is to raise OVER $30,000 with 100+ gyms participating! We love the growing enthusiasm toward MGF and cannot do this without your help. Just as in past years, we ask that every gym participate in this national fundraiser by adding a $5 donation to your admission fee for the party. If you already charge admission, you can raise the price by $5 and donate the proceeds to MGF. If you do not charge a fee, please ask for a $5 donation per member in attendance. In the past, gyms have found great success raising all or nearly...

A Formal Introduction: Welcome Addie Inman

Addie Inman has spent decades loving kids at My Gym. In 1999 during her freshman year of college, she fell head over heels with kiddos working as a part-time teacher at My Gym in Plano, Texas. Two successful years later she transferred to Highlands Ranch, Colorado and immediately jumped into a full-time teaching position. Having demonstrated a wealth of exceptional skills and talents, Addie quickly moved up to the Director position, where she pushed the Highlands Ranch location to record numbers. In 2004, Addie returned to Texas to complete her degree in psychology at the University of Texas and, of course, returned to My Gym as well. First stop was My Gym Plano and then My Gym Frisco, where she quickly raised enrollments to their highest numbers in both locations. Because of her total dedication and outstanding work ethic, Addie was granted the coveted Director of the Year Award within her first year in Frisco, and, in 2010, she became a My Gym owner. Under Addie’s expert ownership, the...

Official Changes to Terrific Tots Curriculum

One of the primary objectives of the Support, Training, and Programming Divisions is to constantly gauge the efficacy of our Core Programs. We are happy to report that, on the whole, our Core Programs are very successful in our gyms. There is one class, however, that has been on our radar for quite some time to improve and enhance: Terrific Tots. As wonderful as this age group is, and as fun as it is to teach, the fact is the children are waiting too long on the mat for Skill Stations. This compromises the constant movement and activity of the class in addition to straining the patience of all involved (parents who try to corral their children to sit, wait, and listen; children who are compelled to wait patiently for an age-inappropriate amount of time, and teachers who are trying to keep the class well-controlled but fun and moving). Earlier this year, we ran a nationwide test in which we introduced a new Skill Stations format to mitigate these...

NEW Upgraded Staff and Member T-Shirts! Save Big on Closeouts!

My Gym is upgrading to new styles and colors for the standard member and staff T-shirts.  The current Gildan 5000/5000B shirts will be phased out. Why?  The new shirts are made from materials that are softer, more comfortable, lighter weight, and more fashionable.  Specifically, the new shirts are combed ring-spun cotton/polyester blends, similar to the specialty T-shirts we’ve been selling for several years.  Also, the new shirts coordinate with the current brand colors.Benefits include the following:More attractive > Better image for My GymMore comfortable > Happier members and staffMore durable > More attractive; saves money in the long run Higher value (Slightly higher cost than current standard, but far superior product)More visibility – Members and staff will want to wear these shirts more often, which will provide gyms with more exposure.More consistency – Higher quality and colors are consistent with the My Gym brand. The new staff shirts are the same shirts given out at the recent regional seminars.Details for the rollout:The new staff shirts are available now.The new member shirts...

Insurance Update (Canada)

Dear Canadian Franchisees, We have been working closely with HUB International to replicate the US insurance platform for Canada. Our doing so will enable Canadian franchisees to receive uniform, comprehensive coverage with the correct limits. Because of the volume we now have in Canada, we will also be able to obtain reduced costs compared to what an individual business would pay. For us to move forward, we will need the information listed below. We will use this information to research, compare, and shop providers to ensure we build the best package. Note: Supplying this information does not “lock you in” or mean you must change providers. Please email the following to Tom Saito at tsaito@mygym.com: A copy of your current commercial package policy and/or the most recent proposal including the Premium Building / Unit SpecificsSquare feet of your gym:Approximate year the building was built:Fire sprinkler system: Yes or No?Current number of children enrolled:Construction type of building – e.g., Wood frame, concrete, cinderblock, etc.:Have you had any liability or property...
