New Web-Based Curriculum

During the conference this past July, we presented our new web-based curriculum. We have created a platform for you to have the curriculum, training videos, music, written language, setup pictures, and Building Blocks all in one place.  Beginning with the week of October 31st, the PDF curriculum will be replaced entirely by the new web-based platform.  The 10/31 curriculum will be accessible in the same section and on the same advanced schedule as before (Resources > Weekly Curriculum on Thursday, October 20th). We are currently testing it in several gyms to ensure the transition for all will be seamless.  Though we do not feel gyms should need to print the curriculum, we understand that there may be a need for it in certain situations (e.g., to safeguard against internet outages).  All pages are printable (CTRL+P or Command+P) and/or can be saved as PDF documents to your computer.  MGE highly recommends reviewing and studying the curriculum with a computer or tablet so that you can fully take advantage of the new...

Storks- FREE Music Download- Questionable Lyrics- GYMS’ OPTION TO PLAY OR NOT

Regarding the Storks free music download cards for the song, “Kiss the Sky,” it has come to our attention that the lyrics for the song may be perceived as a bit “rough around the edges” and thus not appropriate for use in the gyms. The song is fun, upbeat, and approved to be featured in the kids’ PG rated movie; and, while it could be perceived as harmless, it may not be. Save Big on the My Gym Party Favor Pack!

Our gyms continue to have great success with the My Gym Party Favor Pack.  As many of you know, this pack is a huge convenience and a great value for parents, plus it’s a simple way for gyms to earn extra income from their parties while providing a great service for their members. Last November, we made some changes to the pack.  Specifically, we added the My Gym branded disc shooter; we dropped the punch ball, saucer, and spin top, and we reduced the cost from $126 to $120 for a case of 60 packs.  After the change, some gyms asked us to add the punch ball and spin top back in, since they are fun and popular items and because the punch ball adds bulk to the pack, helping to give it a higher perceived value.  We were told that gyms would prefer to have these items back in the pack, even if we had to go back to the higher previous cost.  After considering this feedback, we...

MGCA Conference Recipient Update!

Three-year-old Braelynn was diagnosed with Autism in December 2015. While this diagnosis brought up many questions for the family, it also enabled them to learn how to assist Braelynn with her growing needs. She has an interest in playing outside with her brothers, however, before receiving her gift, she would sit outside to watch without actively participating in physical activity. Thanks to the generosity of My Gym Arvada, Jupiter, Orlando, Lake Mary, Manhattan Beach, Palm Desert, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Thousand Oaks, Valencia, and West Orange at the My Gym International Conference in July, MGCA was able to purchase a Wooden Swing Set for Braelynn. Instructions for Handling “STORKS” Promotional Materials – IMPORTANT

Many of you may be opening your mail today only to discover that you’ve been sent some apparent promotional materials, only lacking the usual letter of directives from MGE.  The materials correlate to a new children’s movie produced by Warner Brothers, “Storks.”  This is a partnership between Warner Brothers and MGE that has not yet been 100% finalized. While we’re working on the final deal within our respective legal divisions (and we expect to come to an agreement very soon), Warner Brothers jumped the gun and sent out the promotional materials ahead of schedule, and without first passing them through MGE Marketing – per our usual procedure. If you have received “Storks” posters, puzzles, stickers, etc., we ask that you please hang on to them for the time being and refrain from posting or distributing the materials until further notice. Save by ordering your vinyl spike balls for programming now.

Those who attended the recent My Gym International Conference probably came home with our new 5” vinyl spike ball, considering how many “free” balls Alex Herrera threw into the crowd.  If you’ve played with the new spike ball, you surely discovered that it’s a fun, versatile ball that is perfect for the gym because of its size, texture, flexibility, bounce, and other characteristics.  Thus, it should be no surprise that this ball is being added to curriculum. The spike balls come in six bright colors: blue, red, yellow, green, purple, and orange.  There are twelve balls per pack, two of each color.  Half of the ball surface is smooth, and the other half has flexible spikes.  A large white My Gym logo is printed on the smooth surface.  The spike balls are shipped deflated to save on the freight cost, but they inflate easily and quickly with a standard ball needle and hand or foot air pump.
